アメリカでは彼らのファースト・アルバムとなる。イギリスではアメリカに1カ月遅れて9月に公式盤としてリリースされた。エリック・クラプトン在籍時のテイクとジェフ参加後の録音をカップリングしたアルバム。もちろんアルバム単位でいえばジェフにとっての初の商業的な作品となる。ジェフがプレイしているのは 「I'm Not Talking」、「I Ain't Done Wrong」、「My Girl Sloopy」 のみ。

アメリカ向けの二枚目のアルバム。イギリスでリリースされていたクラプトン時代のライブ・アルバム『Five Live Yardbirds』の数曲とジェフ参加後のヒット曲で構成された、基本的には編集盤スタンスのアルバム。ジェフがプレイしているのは 「I'm A Man」、「You're A Better Man Than I」、「Evil Hearted You」、「Still I'm Sad」、「Heart Full Of Soul」、「The Train Kept A-Rollin'」 の6曲。
Regular album, released only in US. Contains materials from the UK album "Five Live Yardbirds", and the hits after Jeff joined the band. Jeff plays on "I'm A Man", "You're A Better Man Than I", "Evil Hearted You", "Still I'm Sad", "Heart Full Of Soul", "The Train Kept A-Rollin'".

公式盤としてリリースされた。ジェフ在籍時のヤードバーズにとって唯一のオリジナル・スタジオ・レコーディング。すべてのリード・ギターをジェフがプレイした。「Over Under Sideways Down」 ではベースも弾き、「The Nazz Are Blue」 ではボーカルも務めた。メンフィスのサン・スタジオで録音。イギリスではエリック・クラプトン在籍時の 『Five Live Yardbirds』 に続く二作目のアルバム。後に 『Roger The Engineer』 (EDSEL ED116) として1983年に再発された。その際、「Happenings Ten Years Time Ago」 (邦題「幻の10年」)と 「Psycho Daisies」 が追加された。アメリカでは三作目として、『Over Under Sideways Down』 (Epic BN26210) のタイトルで発売された。モノラル、ステレオのバージョンによって 「Lost Woman」、「He's Always There」、「Hot House Of Omagarashid」 のソロが異なる。
Official album. The only original studio recording in Jeff Beck days. Jeff plays every lead guitar on every song. Plays bass on "Over Under Sideways Down". Sings on "The Nazz Are Blue". "I'm A Man" was recorded at Chess studio, Chicago. Rest, at Sun Studio, Memphis. In UK, released as their second album. In 1983, re-issued as "Roger The Engineer" (EDSEL ED116). On that time, "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago", "Psycho Daisies" were added. In US, released as their third album, titled "Over Under Sideways Down" (Epic BN26210). US stereo disc contains different guitar solos on "Lost Woman", "He's Always There", "Hot House Of Omagarashid" from monoral version.

ミケランジェロ・アントニオーニ監督のサイケデリックな映画のサウンドトラック。監督は当初、ザ・フーを起用する予定でいたが、スケジュールの都合でヤードバーズが代役を務めることになった。彼らの手持ちの曲で唯一アントニオーニの興味をひいたのが 「The Train Kept A-Rollin'」 だった。ところが版権管理者がとんでもない金額を提示したため、急遽新しい詩が書かれた。それが 「Stroll On」。ジェフとジミー・ペイジのツイン・ギターが聞ける。またこの曲を演奏するシーンが映画にも使われている。
Soundtrack from the psychedelic movie directed by Michelangelo Antonioni. At first, The who was planned, but they refused, instead, The Yardbirds performed. In all of their repertory,the director liked to use was "The Train Kept A-Rollin'". But the publisher required too much payment, so Keith Relf rewrote the lyrics. That's "Stroll On". Jeff and Jimmy Page play guitar together. Their performance of the song is seen in the movie.
