1952.xx.xx: He started to learn piano with his parents' recommendation. He practiced two hours a day, but soon he got tired with it, so his uncle taught him violin and cello.

1957.xx.xx: Outside the Movie theater in his town, he saw a poster of "The Girl Can't Help It". He saw it and decided to play guitar. He tried to construct an electric guitar with the box made of wood. He painted the guitar yellow.

1960.xx.xx: Entered Wimbledon art school. These days he had been interested in Les Paul. Gradually, he devoted in Charlie Byrd, Burny Kessell, B.B. King. His parents made him to listen to classic music records. Jeff had interested in "Bolero" by Ravel. Jeff's interest in music grew wider, later he heard Booker T.& the MG's, then his interest is filled with soul music.

1964.07.xx: Session with Cylil Davis' All-Stars. Jeff played with Nicky Hopkins, Harris Burton, Carlo Little. Jeff recorded "Steelin'" and "Chuckles", later released in many records.

1965.02.xx: Secretly, Jeff had a session with The Yardbirds at Advision Studio, London. Because Eric Clapton almost made his mind to leave the group. Sitar version and guitar version of "Heart Full Of Soul", "Steeled Blues", "Evil Hearted You", "Still I'm Sad" were recorded.
1965.03.03: After the concert at Bristol, Eric Clapton left The Yardbirds.
1965.03.06: Announced that Jeff joined The Yardbirds instead of Eric Clapton. At first,band wanted to Jimmy Page to join. But he was too busy with session job. Instead,he introduced Jeff to the band. There are some rumors that Jimmy purely wanted to give a job to Jeff, or he didn't like the type of music they performed.
1965.03.13: Single "For Your Love" was released. Recording in Eric Clapton days, Jeff didn't joined. Incidentally, this single was one reason Eric Clapton's drop-out. He always wanted to play blues, but, again, this new song was too pop. So, though he was in the studio, he was laying on the sofa. At last, he unwillingly played only on the boogie part.
1965.03.19: Started touring UK at Wimbledon Palace. The first tour with Jeff.

1965.04.15: Finished touring UK at Edmonton Cooks Ferry.
1965.04.xx: Recording at Advision studio,London. "My Girl Sloopy", "I'm Not Talking", "I Ain't Done Wrong" were recorded.
1965.06.xx: LP "For Your Love" was released in US. Compilation album mixed materials of both Eric and Jeff
1965.06.xx: Single "Heart Full Of Soul c/w Steeled Blues" was released in UK. The first single with Jeff. By the way, as heard on "Steeled Blues", Jeff was good at bottleneck among younger guitarists. So he was given a nickname "Jeff Steel Beck".

1966.01.xx: Attended in San Remo Music Festival, Italy, that Jeff himself had been disappointed so long. This was unbelievable Festival. One artist perform one song, and critics criticizes like an exhibition. First appearance as a rock band from UK. They performed Bobby Solo's number "Questa Volta". But couldn't win a prize. Live recording is included in the album "San Remo '66".
1966.02.xx: Single "Shapes Of Things c/w I'm Not Talking" was released in US. But soon it was withdrawn.
1966.02.xx: Single "Shapes Of Things c/w You're A Better Man Than I" was released in UK.
1966.03.xx: From March to April, rehearsal of the album "Over Under Sideways Down" has been done at Advision studio, London. "What Do You Want", "Jeff's Blues", "For R.S.G.", "Like Jimmy Reed Again", "Chris' Number", "Pounds And Stomps", and two takes of "Someone To Love" were recorded.
1966.03.xx: Georgeo Gomelsky, the manager, announced about the plan of solo albums by each members of The Yardbirds. Jeff was supposed to make a full instrumental album. But did not realize except Keith Relf's single "Mr. Zero".
1966.04.xx: During the tour in Marseilles, Jeff had meningitis, entered a hospital.
1966.04.xx: From April to June, the rest of the materials in the album "Over Under Sideways Down" were recorded.
1966.04.xx: Troubled with Georgeo Gomelsky,they fired him. Trouble was about money. They newly employed Simon Napair Bell.

1966.09.23: Started touring UK at Royal Albert Hall. The tour was to support the Rolling Stones. The other companion was Ike & Tina Turner.

1966.09.xx: Carousel? club, San Francisco, Jeff's tonsillitis recurred, entered a hospital again. After this happening,band kept touring as quartet.
1966.09.xx: Somewhere in New Mexico.
1966.09.xx: Session at Elstley studio,London. Recorded "Stroll On", a number used in a movie "Blow Up". The director, Michaelangero Antonioni wanted to use The Who on the film. But they declined. So instead of The Who, The Yardbirds was selected. The only song the director liked to use on the movie was "The Train Kept A-Rollin'" in all their songs. But the publisher required unusual amount of payment, so Keith Relf rewrote the lyrics in haste.
1966.10.09: Finished touring UK at Garamond Theater, Southampton..
1966.10.14: Filmed The Yardbirds' act in movie "Blow Up" at Elstley studio, London. It took four days to finish. The scene was a performance on the stage. The stage was set up like The Ricky Tick Club, Windsor, where they used to play since the early days. For the script was written for The Who from the first, Jeff had to smash the cheap made-in-Japan guitar, knocking on the amps.
1966.10.21: Started touring US,as a part of the Dick Clark Package show.
1966.10.xx: On the early day in US tour, he got a fever and entered hospital in California. But there was some rumors about his action. Most believable one is that intentionally he was idle with the tour. It was sure that he was tired with a series of low level stages. He had often escaped from the group until the end of this tour November, 27th.

1966.11.xx: Single "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago c/w The Nazz Are Blue" was released in US.
1966.12.06: The Yardbirds back to UK.
1966.12.xx: He stayed too long in a hospital and it was rumored that he was leaving The Yardbirds.

1969.08.15: Jeff Beck Group was supposed to perform at Woodstock Festival. But the day before, Jeff had to cancel.

1969.08.xx: In the place of Vanilla Fudge guitarist, Vince Martel, he was sick, Jeff played on "Things Go Better With Coke" with Vanilla Fudge, a tune for Coca Cola commercials. Later released in "Coca Cola Commercials" CD. For months, this song was on air. Short ago, Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham let Jeff to listen to Vanilla Fudge and Jeff was so interested in them. So, this combination of recording was realized. Since then, Jeff wished to organize a trio with the rhythm sections of Vanilla Fudge, Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice.

1969.11.01: LP "The Best Of Jeff Beck" was released in Holland. Compilation album including his singles. Announced that Jeff would go to New York, November 3rd, to organize a new group.
1969.11.02: When he was driving his Ford on the street of Madestone, Kent, his car was crashed to the oncoming car, avoiding a dog. Seriously wounded on his head, entered West Kent General hospital. Announced that he needed 3 months to recover. Even now his nose has a scar.
1969.11.03: Scheduled to meet Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice in New York. But Jeff was in hospital. Jeff, Tim and Carmine was planning to organize a group. They could not wait for Jeff to leave the hospital, organized a new band Cactus.
